hi everyone!!
reading has become such a staple in my list of hobbies – it clears my mind and transports me to another world. i find it so relaxing and i enjoy setting reading goals for myself throughout the year. over the past couple of years i have become a consistent reader and have explored books throughout many genres. today, i am going to be sharing my favorite books in the historical fiction, romance, thriller & memoir genres. so, grab a glass of wine (or carafe) and buckle up for a whirlwind tour through the shelves of my mind.

Historical Fiction: The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah

Romance: Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score
Things We Never Got Over by Lucy Score is the first book in the Knockemout series and tells the story of Knox & Naomi. After Naomi runs away from her wedding to come to the rescue of her estranged twin sister in Knockemout, Virginia she realizes that her evil twin steals her car, cash and leaves behind her daughter for Naomi to raise. Lucy Score explores themes including the importance of support from friends & family, the challenges of adoption and the power of love.
i could not be more obsessed with this series. this is a MUST READ.
Thriller: Never Lie by Freida McFadden
Never Lie by Freida McFadden is a thriller that tells the story of newlyweds Tricia and Ethan after they find themselves trapped in a remote manor during a violent winter storm. as they explore the house, Tricia finds a secret room containing cassette tapes of Dr. Adrienne Hale’s patient interviews. in these tapes, Tricia finds herself in the midst of a chilling mystery surrounding Dr. Hale’s disappearance. the mystery of Dr. Hale slowly unravels until Tricia listens to the final tape which reveals the terrifying truth.
this book is quick, easy and hooks you from the very first page. Freida McFadden is my favorite thriller author.
Memoir: The Woman In Me by Britney Spears
The Woman In Me by Britney Spears is a compelling memoir that explores her journey from childhood stardom to global fame, revealing intimate details about her personal struggles and triumphs. through candid reflections, Britney Spears offers a narrative that celebrates resilience and self-discovery amidst the pressures of fame and public scrutiny.
i’ve been a fan of Britney since i was six. and i read this in a day. it’s SO good.
so there ya have it, my favorite books (for now) in different genres. navigating life through a book in one hand and a pinot grigio in the other is truly what gets me through so i hope you found this inspiring and encouraging. here’s to the stories that move us and the wines that lift our spirits.
