happy october! i love a new month, i love the fall & i love podcasts. if you know me, you know that i listen to a plethora of topics- ranging from pop culture, true crime, documentary & self care. below i am sharing a few of my favorites that will inspire you to get your sh*t together or if nothing else, have you laughing out loud in public, which is always a good look- nothing says “cool” like cackling alone while walking down the street.
enjoy!
1. Kidnapped By Pirates For 93 Days- The Skinny Confidential Podcast – in 2011, jessica buchanan was kidnapped by pirates in somalia and held hostage for 93 days, before being rescued by SEAL Team 6. in this episode, lauren and michael sit down with jessica and discuss what transpired and how she persevered in the desert for 93 days. this story is insane. so insane that i listened to the episode a couple of times just because i wanted to make sure i took in every detail.
2. How to Prevent the Transition from Wellness to Illness and Foundational Practices for Optimal Health with Mark Hyman, MD- Well Podcast – mark hyman, MD is a practicing family physician and an internationally recognized leader, speaker, educator, and advocate in the field of functional medicine. in this episode, he joins the show to discuss the transformation from wellness to illness and how humans develop chronic conditions and specific things ( food, exercise, lifestyle) that we should be doing to stay healthy.
3. 3 Small Decisions That Make You Feel Incredible: Do This Every Morning After Waking Up- The Mel Robbins Podcast – in this episode, mel talks about 3 simple science-backed strategies that will change your life, and boost your energy as soon as you wake up to make sure that you own your mornings and can take on the day.
4. What Alcohol Does to Your Body: Harvard’s Dr. Sarah Wakeman With the Medical Facts You Need to Know – in this episode, mel discusses the latest research and science of how alcohol impacts your body, brain and mind. she really helps you stay informed about drinking alcohol and gives all the facts.
i just LOVE mel, she’s like that friend who tells you to get your life together but does it in a way that makes you want to hug her.
5. Skincare Obsessions, How to Reverse Sun Damage & Crepey Skin, Benefits of Facial Fat & Why the Korean Beauty Approach is Superior- Well Podcast – in this episode, tina chen craig (entrepreneur of luxury skincare) discusses specific routines for healthy skin, how to reverse sun damage without office treatments, craziest things we’ve done for beauty, how to eliminate eye puffiness and circles and a lot more. this is one of my favorite episodes in the skincare/beauty realm of podcasting. it has so much digestible information and really breaks down skincare and beauty routines.
and there ya have it! my favorite podcast episodes to kickstart your fall. trust me, your ears will thank you. let me know what you think!
